Upload your logo mark. You get a launch intro that ends on your resting logo, a calm idle loop and reactions for success, loading and attention — as a Rive file for your site and app, transparent video for overlays, MP4 for socials and GIF for email signatures.
Live Rive file
This is the actual .riv our engine delivers, playing in your browser — the same state machine you drive from your app with one number input and a trigger per one-shot.
Yes, if the tool rigs your logo rather than regenerating it. Rig-based tools move your own pixels or traced shapes, so the design stays identical; generative video models redraw every frame and can alter details. Charmotion uses AI only to find the logo's parts, then animates your exact artwork.
| Where | Use | File |
|---|---|---|
| Website header and hero | launch once, then idle | .riv or transparent WebM |
| App launch | LaunchStateMachine | .riv, or HEVC-alpha MOV on iOS |
| Loading and success states | loading, success | .riv triggers |
| Email signature | wave or happy | GIF |
| Social posts, Stories, Reels | launch, happy | MP4, 9:16 MP4 |
| Keynote and video edits | any | transparent MOV |
Logo marks and characters
Symbols, emblems, app icons and logos with a face animate fully. Nova, the blob in the demo above, started as a flat logo mark. 3D and gradient logos keep their exact pixels in Motion mode.
Wordmarks
A text-only logo gets the same motion — bounce, tilt, launch — but no character acting, and letters are not animated one by one. For a kinetic typography reveal, a motion designer is the better route; see our guide on animating a logo from a PNG.

Rive state machine Studio
One tiny vector file instead of 17 videos. It’s what powers the demo at the top of this page.
import { useRive, useStateMachineInput } from "@rive-app/react-canvas";
export function Pip({ mood = 0 }) {
const { rive, RiveComponent } = useRive({
src: "/pip.riv",
stateMachine: "CharacterStateMachine",
autoplay: true,
});
const input = useStateMachineInput(rive, "CharacterStateMachine", "mood");
if (input) input.value = mood; // 0 idle · 1 happy · 2 wave · 3 thinking · 4 sad · 5 loading …
return <RiveComponent style={{ width: 320, height: 320 }} />;
}

For a site header or app launch you want the .riv or transparent WebM — that's Studio ($29/month). Starter ($4.99/month) gives MP4, GIF and the 9:16 video for socials and email. Prices in USD; tax is calculated at checkout by Polar.

Yes. The launch intro settles on idle, which is your logo at rest, and every one-shot returns to the current loop, so the logo never stops in an odd frame.
Yes. Use the .riv with the LaunchStateMachine for a crisp, small file, or the transparent WebM with an HEVC MOV source for Safari. Keep it short and respect reduced motion.
Use the GIF: email clients don't play Rive or video. Outlook on Windows may show only the first frame, so make sure that frame looks complete.
Colours come from the image you upload, and nothing is recoloured afterwards. For a dark-mode or alternate-colour version, upload that version as its own set.
Free, in your browser — nothing is uploaded until you choose a plan.
