Transparent logo animation

Your logo, animated on a transparent background.

Upload your logo mark. Every animation comes with an alpha channel in two formats: WebM with VP9 alpha for Chrome, Firefox, Edge and OBS, and MOV with HEVC alpha for Safari, iOS, Final Cut Pro and Keynote. The Rive file is transparent too. Your logo's own pixels move, so nothing is redrawn or restyled, and 3D logos keep every highlight.

What stays exact, and what's not included

Your logo stays your logo

The rig moves your own pixels or traced shapes. Colors, gradients, shading and proportions stay as uploaded. 3D and gradient logos are animated in Motion mode (squash, stretch, tilt, hops and a launch intro); flat marks and logo characters can also get expressions and arm waves.

Not included

  • Transparent GIF: GIF alpha is on or off per pixel, so soft edges get a jagged halo.
  • ProRes 4444 by default: it's available on request for editors that need it.
  • Letter-by-letter reveals for wordmarks: a text logo moves as a whole, so for kinetic type a motion designer is the better route.
Real output

Delivered files, exactly as you'd download them.

MP4 Every set

1080 × 1080 at 60 fps. Here: Gummo’s wave, from a delivered set.

Transparent WebM & MOV Every set

Alpha channel included, so the checkerboard shows through. MOV is HEVC with alpha for Apple apps and editors.

import { useRive, useStateMachineInput } from "@rive-app/react-canvas";

export function Kiko({ mood = 0 }) {
  const { rive, RiveComponent } = useRive({

  const input = useStateMachineInput(rive, "CharacterStateMachine", "mood");

FAQ

Before you start.

More in the full FAQ.

Which transparent format should I use in Premiere, DaVinci, Canva or OBS?

OBS: the WebM in a Media Source. Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve: ask for ProRes 4444, the most widely accepted alpha format in editors. Final Cut Pro and Keynote: the HEVC MOV. Canva doesn't document transparent video uploads, so test the WebM there or use the MP4 on a matching background.

Why does the transparent MOV play on a black background?

The app is ignoring the alpha channel. Apple notes that a player that doesn't understand HEVC alpha shows only the base layer, which is the logo on black. Use the WebM in that app instead, make sure Premiere's Ignore Alpha Channel option is off, or ask us for ProRes 4444.

Can I get the logo animation as a transparent GIF?

No. GIF transparency is all or nothing per pixel, so soft edges, shadows and 3D shading come out with a rough halo. The GIF in every set has a solid background; for transparency use the WebM, MOV or .riv on a paid plan.

Does the transparent logo play in PowerPoint and Keynote?

Keynote plays the HEVC-alpha MOV over any slide background on macOS 10.15 and later. Microsoft doesn't document alpha video in PowerPoint, so use the GIF or MP4 there on a slide whose background matches. Google Slides inserts video only from YouTube, a URL or Google Drive, so a GIF is the safe choice.

Will animating my logo change how it looks?

No. Your own pixels or traced shapes move; nothing is regenerated, recolored or restyled. If you need a dark-mode or alternate-color version, upload that version as its own set.
