Why does my WhatsApp sticker freeze on the first frame?

That's by design: WhatsApp ends the animation on the first frame after it loops. The official stickers README says "the first frame should say it all." Start every clip on a complete, readable pose, such as the character's neutral idle face, rather than on a transition frame, a closed-eye blink or an empty frame.
