Can an MP4 have a transparent background?
Published · 0:29
A standard H.264 MP4 cannot store transparency. For transparent video on the web, use VP9 WebM for Chrome, Edge and Firefox and HEVC with alpha for Safari and Apple apps. ProRes 4444 also carries alpha, but it is an editing format and too large to serve on web pages.
