What states does an AI assistant avatar need?

At minimum: idle, listening while the user speaks or types, thinking while the model works, and talking while it answers, plus a resting state. Vercel's AI SDK Elements Persona component, built with Rive, uses idle, listening, thinking, speaking and asleep. Add success and error reactions for actions the assistant completes.
